“Can we bring our dog with us on our engagement shoot?” Lorraine asked. Well, of course you can! I love dogs, and they sure do add a little more personality to any photo. And little Emily was no exception on this winter-y photo session with Lorraine and Craig to mark the occasion of their engagement.
I met Lorraine and Craig in September of last year, when we chatted about their upcoming March 31 wedding over coffee on a gorgeous late-summer evening. They are a lovely young couple, and Lorraine is absolutely charming. I remember the excitement I felt after meeting them to work with them to photograph their wedding day.
Early this year, we began to plan our upcoming engagement session together. Lorraine and Craig were hoping for a winter-looking outdoor feel to their photos, but as those of you who live in Edmonton well know, snow was in short supply this year. We planned to meet at a nearby ravine that we are both quite familiar with on February 11. Thankfully we got a dusting of snow or two in the week leading up to our shoot, and we got the day that we wanted with a bright, sunny winter day.
Along with Emily, the four of us strolled through the ravine, sharing a few laughs, and snapping photos along the way. I had a lovely time, and I think we got the result that we were hoping for.
I’m very much looking forward to seeing Lorraine and Craig again on March 31 to photograph and share in their wedding day.
