On an absurdly warm day in the latter part of October, I met the lovely Whitney and her handsome Tim on the family farm for an afternoon photo session to celebrate their engagement.

I think of myself as an honourary Albertan. I was born here, but I left Alberta in 1984 at the age of 6 to return to my parents' homeland of Newfoundland, and I didn't return to Alberta until 2005. As such, I didn't have a lot of exposure to farm life. So when Isabelle and Dustin asked me to capture their engagement session on their farm outside of Edmonton, I was thrilled at the opportunity. There were farm dogs, horses, cows, tractors, and old trucks, and a spectacular sunset. Oh my!

I've come to enjoy walking the High-Level bridge in Edmonton in the evenings when I'm feeling pensive.

Those of you that know me well know that I have a long-standing love affair with the moon, but lately, I've been appreciating the sunsets. It was a painfully long, dark winter, and I haven't ever appreciated the coming of spring as much as I have this year. These evening sunsets are a refreshing change from the drab, afternoon sunsets during winter.
